Corrections policy
We publish health information, so being wrong has consequences. This is exactly what happens when we are.
Report an error
Email corrections@pocketsinfo.com with the page address and what you believe is wrong. A source we can check is the most useful thing you can send. You do not need to be a healthcare professional to report an error, and we do not require you to explain who you are.
How quickly we act
| Severity | Example | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Safety-critical | A stated contraindication, warning or interaction is wrong or missing | Page unpublished or corrected within 24 hours of verification |
| Material | A medical claim is inaccurate, outdated, or not supported by the source cited | Corrected within 3 working days, with a correction note on the page |
| Minor | Typo, broken link, unclear wording | Fixed in the normal cycle, no correction note required |
How corrections appear
When we make a material correction we do not quietly edit the page and move on. The page carries a dated correction note explaining what was wrong and what changed, and the review date is reset so you can see it has been re-checked.
We do not delete pages to make an error disappear. If a page has to be withdrawn for safety reasons, we say that it was withdrawn and why.
If we disagree
Sometimes a reported error is a genuine difference between sources, or a difference between countries — a medicine approved for one use in one country and another use elsewhere. In that case we will usually add the nuance to the page rather than pick a side, and we will tell you what we found and why we made that call.
