Advertising disclosure
How this site makes money, and what that does — and does not — buy.
How we are funded
PocketsInfo is free to read and carries advertising, including through Google AdSense. Ad revenue pays for hosting, data access and the time spent researching and reviewing content. We would rather be funded by advertising than put health information behind a paywall.
The line between advertising and editorial
This is the part that matters, so it is stated plainly:
- Advertisers do not influence our content. They do not choose our topics, see pages before publication, or get to change what we say about any medicine or condition.
- We do not accept payment for coverage. No sponsored medicine pages, no paid inclusion, no pay-to-play rankings.
- We do not use affiliate links on medical pages. We have no financial interest in you buying any product we describe.
- Ads are served programmatically. We generally do not know in advance which specific ad you will see, and an ad appearing next to an article is not an endorsement of it.
Advertising we refuse
We block categories that we consider incompatible with a health information site, including:
- Online pharmacies selling prescription medicines without a prescription
- Miracle cures, unproven “detox” and disease-reversal claims
- Diagnostic or treatment claims made by unqualified providers
- Ads designed to look like our editorial content
- Misleading before/after imagery and body-shaming creative
Programmatic advertising is imperfect and something objectionable occasionally gets through. If you see an ad here that should not be running, please tell us at hello@pocketsinfo.com with a screenshot and we will block it.
How ads are labelled and placed
Advertising is visually distinct from editorial content and never placed so as to be mistaken for it. We do not put ads inside safety-critical sections such as warnings, contraindications or emergency guidance.
Data and cookies
Advertising partners set cookies and may personalise ads based on your browsing. We do not share your email address with them and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves. Details and opt-outs are in the cookie policy and privacy policy.
Future arrangements
If we ever add another revenue source — sponsorship, affiliate arrangements on non-medical pages, or paid products — we will disclose it here and label it clearly on the affected page before it goes live.
